Reports Veeam


¡Buenas!
¿Alguna vez habéis tenido que configurar un servidor de Veeam para realizar backups de varias VMs y habéis perdido la cuenta de las VMs que tienen backup y las que no?
¿Esa extraña sensación de no saber, tras varias semanas funcionando, si tienes backup de todo? ¿Habrá bajado el rendimiento de mis copias de seguridad?

Bueno, yo sí lo he vivido y he tenido que hacer reports de copias para clientes y, como no tengas un buen control diario (sí, algo más que simplemente ver el mail de «Success» o mirar en el veeam que todos se hayan hecho… un report con tiempos, tamaños y demás)… lo tienes complicado para revisar todos los correos del mes anterior, uno a uno e ir apuntando datos… Pues como me he visto en esa situación alguna que otra vez… decidí buscar algún script de Powershell (sí, me gusta mucho poder jugar con Powershell y scripting) hasta que encontré un Script muy completo que, tras personalizar conforme a mis necesidades, he estado usando en los últimos tres meses y os lo comparto.

El report se puede hacer basado en horas (introduciendo la cantidad de horas que quieres reportar (numero exacto)), semanal o mensual. Estos dos últimos, basta con poner semanal o mensual y Powershell, gracias a unas variables introducidas, sabe cuántas horas debe reportar.

¡Comenzamos a destripar el correo que recibimos!

La primera parte del correo, nos indica el total de VMs con copia de seguridad y las que tenemos desprotegidas. Punto seguido, nos muestra un breve resumen de las sesiones realizadas en el lapso de tiempo indicado por dicho servidor. Finalmente, nos muestra las VMs que no tienen copia de seguridad dentro del RPO.

Acto seguido, nos muestra qué servidores se han copiado recientemente, la fecha del backup (inicio y fin) y el estado de esa copia. Un poco más abajo, nos encontramos con un informe de los JOBS creados y su último resultado.

Lo siguiente que podemos ver, es el tamaño que ocupan nuestras copias. Nos indica el servidor al que se hace copia, el repositorio de la copia, tamaño de la VM y el tamaño del fichero de copia.

Finalmente, vemos el tan ansiado report (muy completo) de todas las sesiones realizadas durante el último mes (en mi caso) por el servidor de copias. En la tabla, podemos ver:

Nombre del job, Hora de inicio, Hora de finalización, Duración, Velocidad media (en MB/s), el total de GB de la VM, Los GBs procesados, GB leídos, los GB transferidos, la cantidad de deduplicación y la variable de compresión aplicada al backup.

Por último, nos encontramos con los detalles propios de veeam y sus componentes.

Lo mejor de este report, es que te lo envía por correo y puedes copiar los datos directos a Excel de forma masiva.
